Knee/Shoulder Pain Management

Do you suffer from shoulder or knee pain ?

The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the human body. The joint includes four tendons. The purpose of a tendon is to hold muscle to bone. Together, these four "rotator cuff" tendons stabilize the upper arm bone to the shoulder socket and allow a wide range of motion in the shoulderAny swelling, inflammation, tearing, or bony changes around these tendons causes pain when a person tries to move the arm above the head, behind the back, or straight out in front.Shoulder pain is an extremely common complaint for which there are many causes.

For the patients with Knee Joint Pain, depending upon their condition, their pain can be relieved by appropriate medications, physiotherpy(using ultrasound,IFT etc.), IMS(Intra muscular Stimulation) of trigger points of Knee muscles, nerve blocks. They respond better to Physiotherpy if they have less pain or no pain during excercises. If we take good care of our knees at the right time, we can defeat arthritis and knee replacement surgery can be avoided. For this purpose Meenkashi Pain Management Center has active Knee Club.

Commons causes of Pain include:

  • Muscle or tendon tears
  • Inflammation of the lining of the joint
  • Bony impingement on the nerves or tendons running through the joint
  • Dislocations or separations
  • Arthritis

At Meenakshi Pain Management Center, we have treated several patients with Knee & Shoulder Pain. Dr. Yashwant Nankar & Dr. Meenakshi Nankar has experience of several years to treat the patients of Knee/Shoulder Pain.

Our Treatments on Sciatica/Back Pain

Spinal Cord Stimulator

A Spinal Cord Stimulator or Dorsal Column Stimulator is a type of implantable neuromodulation device that is used to send electrical signals to select areas of the spinal cord for the treatment of certain pain conditions. It is consideration for people who have a pain condition not responded to conservative therapy.

Nerve Root Block

A nerve root block is an injection of local anesthetic (numbing medicine) and steroid injected under X-ray guidance into the area where the nerve exits the spinal column. A nerve root block is usually ordered by your doctor for pain in the arm or leg that follows the path of a single nerve.

Radiofrequency Ablation

Radiofrequency ablation is a medical procedure in which part of the electrical conduction system of the heart, tumor or other dysfunctional tissue is ablated using the heat generated from medium frequency alternating current.

Epidural Injection

Epidural steroid injection is a technique in which corticosteroids and a local anesthetic are injected into the epidural space around the spinal cord in an effort to improve spinal stenosis, spinal disc herniation, or
both.

Neuromodulation

Neuromodulation is "the alteration of nerve activity through targeted delivery of a stimulus, such as electrical stimulation or chemical agents, to specific neurological sites in the body".

Electrical Nerve Stimulation

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a therapy that uses low-voltage electrical current for pain relief.TENS is typically done with a TENS unit, a small battery-operated device.
